12 II 2018 - UE increased the restrictions with respect to Bisphenol A

UE commission published this new regulation (EU 2018/213) increasing the restrictions with respect to Bisphenol A:

  • A new limit for the Specific Migration Limit (SML) divided by 12 to 0,05 mg of BPA per kg of food (before 0,6 mg/kg)
  • An additional SML for packaging specifically aimed at children of 3 years or younger

Here is new regulation text: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32018R0213&qid=1518601729106&from=en

The prohibition remains in place on the BPA use in the manufacture of polycarbonate packaging used for toddler.

Now the question is simple for water distributors using polycarbonate bottles in Europe:

How promote the health and safety of a product bottled

in a forbidden packaging for infant and toddler?
